DR.MARCEL’S THE FLY-TOX
👨⚕️ Who Was Dr. Marcel Petiot?
Full Name: Marcel André Henri Félix Petiot
Born: January 17, 1897, Auxerre, France
Died: May 25, 1946 (executed by guillotine)
Profession: Medical doctor, politician, WWI veteran
🩸 Modus Operandi
Cover Story: During Nazi-occupied France (WWII), Petiot posed as a member of the French Resistance.
The Scam: He offered safe passage for Jews and other fugitives to South America, supposedly through a secret escape network called "Fly-Tox."
Reality: Once victims arrived at his Paris townhouse (21 Rue Le Sueur), Petiot told them they had to be inoculated against disease for the journey. He injected them with a fatal dose of cyanide or other poisons, then disposed of their bodies.
Body Disposal: Bodies were dismembered, burned in a coal stove, or dissolved in quicklime and acid. Police found body parts stuffed in suitcases, buried in lime pits, or hidden behind walls.
🔍 Discovery and Arrest
In 1944, neighbors complained of a foul odor and constant smoke from Petiot’s chimney.
Police found body parts and remains of at least 23 people, though Petiot later claimed over 60 victims.
Petiot fled and adopted a false identity in the French Resistance. Ironically, after the war, he turned himself in, thinking his resistance role would protect him.
⚖️ Trial and Execution
Trial: Took place in 1946. Petiot claimed all his victims were Nazi collaborators, but evidence showed many were Jewish refugees.
Defense: He claimed to be a patriot, fighting for France. The court found his stories inconsistent and self-serving.
Verdict: Guilty of 26 murders (23 bodies found, plus 3 other victims).
Sentence: Death by guillotine.
🧠 Psychological Profile
Petiot exhibited traits of narcissism, psychopathy, and manipulativeness.
